Exploring Learning Difficulties in Students at Elementary School Level in Islamabad

Learning difficulties are a state of mind which prevents anybody to learn on the same rate as others. Learning difficulties has become habit of the students and put ever lasting effects on their learning and achievements. The study is to investigate the learning difficulties of students in English at elementary level. It is quantitative research, while the research design of the study is correlational and survey type. The population of the study is comprised of 1650 students of eight class enrolled in the session (2018-2019) at elementary level in district Islamabad. While the sample of the study is consisted of 360 students of class eighth at elementary level in district Islamabad. In the selection of the sample of the study, stratified random sampling techniques is used. Questionnaire is used as a research tool. The research tools are the aspects of learning difficulties and their causes in English subject at elementary school level in district Islamabad. The research tool is properly validated through expert’s opinions. According to the opinions of the experts, the research tool is modified and changed. The reliability of the research tool is ensured through Cronbach Alpha. Its value is found 0.85. The researcher personally visited all the selected elementary schools in district Islamabad. Firstly, research explains all the statement of the research tool, then, collected the data. It is correlational and survey type research. SPSS (Version, 22) is used in data analysis. Percentages, frequencies and mean scores are used as statistical techniques.
