Abstract

The present research examined the impact of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) on Teacher Job Performance. The descriptive research design was used in this study and data was collected through two scales, such as the OCB scale developed by Podsakoff and MacKenzie (1989) and the TJP scale developed by Akhtar and Haider (2017). Through convenience sampling technique, selected a sample of government and private school teachers and their principals to rate their performance. Total 420 questionnaires were distributed among teachers, and 84 questionnaires were given to principals, and the response rate was 100% due to vigorous follow-up by the researchers. Researchers applied different statistical techniques to the collected data to get accurate results. This study reveals that the school teachers highly displayed OCB and specifically manifested altruism, courtesy, and conscientiousness. The study results showed that OCB has a statistically significant relationship with teachers’ performance in government and private schools.
