Abstract

Teachers’ passion is of utmost importance yet scant research is done in this area. The present study aimed to find the impact of harmonious work passion on task performance and OCBs through the mediating role of work engagement. The foundations of the relationships are based on self-determination theory (SDT). The data of 234 teaching faculty was collected who were working in higher educational institutions (HEIs) of Lahore. The data were analyzed using PROCESS model 4. The findings showed that harmonious passion increases task and contextual performance of employees and this relationship are mediated via work engagement. The research offers theoretical and practical implications for teachers and HEIs administration.
