Graduate Students’ Perception towards the Role of Tutor in Distance Education

Abstract

The study was designed to find out the graduate perception
towards the role of tutor in distance education. In this study the
students of MA Education program of AIOU were selected as the
sample of the study from Islamabad region on random basis. The
results of the study revealed that students have positive attitude
towards the role of tutor in the area of face to face interaction,
tutor as correspondence teacher and facilitate their students most
positively at study centers. They mark and send students
assignments result on time to university. The graduate student also
have their opinion that tutors are not better skills to guide their
students to go through study guides and allied material more
effectively. The tutors do not give constructive feedback on
students’ assignments and not use any rubric or grading criteria
while giving marks on student’s assignments.
