This study examines the impact of workplace ostracism on employee attitudes (including, affective commitment, job satisfaction, turnover intentions and emotional exhaustion). Moderating role of employees’ emotional intelligence for such impacts was also tested. By using a diverse sample of 230 employees, this study finds a positive direct impact of workplace ostracism on turnover intentions and emotional exhaustion. In contrast, effects of ostracism on affective commitment and job satisfaction are found insignificant. Moreover, emotional intelligence moderates the impact of ostracism on turnover intentions. Practical implications of findings are discussed in the study.
