Abstract

The study was conducted to investigate anxiety, depression, loss of behavioral and emotional control among sports men during COVID -19. The correlational research design was used.The sample size was comprised 177 sports men selected through convenient sampling technique through online survey. Data were collected during the period of one month. The demographic variables of the respondents include; gender, marital status, occupation and sports.The instrument used to measure the anxiety, depression and behavioral / emotional control was Mental Health Inventory (MHI-38).The findings revealed that there is strong positive relationship among anxiety, depression and behavioral / emotional control. Male sports men reported greater level of anxiety, depression and loss of control; similar results are demonstrated in relation to married and unemployed athletes as higher perception of anxiety, depression and loss of behavioral control during COVID-19. The means scores differences are significant among hockey, cricket, athletic and football players. Differences were significant with respect to demographic variables; Anxiety, Depression and Loss of Control among Sports men During COVID -19.
