Abstract

This article deals with the cultural, historical and literary study of a travelogue “Hamala k uss paar” by Mirza Adeeb. This travelogue is consisted upon fifteen chapters containing fifteen days travel’s detail which shows Chinese culture, civilization and social structure. It shows the importance of China wall, Lama temple, Sky temple, Monument of Edgar Snow, River Yangzi, Laborer’s hall. It also portraits the historical context of the Tomb of Saad Bin Abi Waqas (R.A). Mirza Adeeb presents the beautiful landscapes of Peking, Shanghai, Canton, and Nanjing. The author compares the Pakistan and Chinese culture by discussing their variety of food, culture of restaurants, architecture of old buildings, friends shops, art galleries, juggling shows and literature as well. He also gives a comprehensive introduction of Chinese heroes like Maozaytang and sun yat- sen. He makes a contrast between the transport facilities of Pakistan and China by discussing their road and air travel. In brief, it is a good document to have a brief and comprehensive introduction of Chinese Culture and history.
