Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the Educational and Social Determinants for the profile elevation of secondary school teachers in Pakistan. The key questions taken were related to what are the determinants that teachers thought important for their educational and social profile so that they may teach effectively. Mix method approach with ……design was deployed in this study The Population of this study was divided into 2 stratums. It was delimited to o4 divisions of Punjab province (Pakistan) taking one city from each division. To fulfill the objectives of the study, two questionnaires and an interview were used as a research tools used. The questionnaires were got validated by factor analysis in SPSS and by experts from the Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan. After collecting data from the respondents, data were tabulated and coded on spread sheet and then transferred to SPSS and Minitab for analysis. Percentage, frequency count, mean, standard deviation, correlation matrix, Pearson correlation, two sample t-test were used to reach the conclusions of the study. Findings and conclusions were deduced from the data analysis. Overall, responses of the secondary school teachers revealed some educational determinants such as: subject matter knowledge, qualification: academic, professional, training etc. while their social contacts, participation in community welfare activities etc. were their social determinants. These were such determinants who not only formed their profile but also elevate it.
