Purpose: This paper employs a feminist-psychoanalytical approach to explore Elif Shafak's "10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World," analyzing how patriarchy and gender-based violence shape the construction of womanhood
Design/Methodology/Approach: The methodology used in this article is a Qualitative analysis of the Novel. Psychoanalytic- Feminism was employed as a framework of analysis.
Findings: This shows how patriarchal societies use violence to control and dominate women in their houses. Domestic abuse has physical and psychological impacts on victims. The work also explores sexual violence, showing women's vulnerability in a male-dominated society. Violence against women highlights their commodification and dehumanization as objects for male satisfaction.
