Academics Operations of Quaid-I-Azam University and University of Balochistan: A University-Based Comparison

Purpose: The current study purpose was to compare the academic operations of university of Balochistan and Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. The study's objectives were to determine the perceptions of teachers and students about the academic operations of both universities and tried to find out the differences in perceptions of students and teachers regarding demographic variables
Design/Methodology/Approach: The study was quantitative and survey design was used to conduct the research. The population of the study were the teachers and students of 7 departments of Quaid-i-Azam University and the University of Balochistan. A multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the sample for this study. The sample of the study consisted of 150 teachers and 550 students from both universities. For data collection, two research questionnaires (Teachers and Students) were developed on a five-point Likert type scale used for this research.
Findings: There was no difference between the perceptions of students about the academic operations of universities based on their programs and departments in other factors. Students of QAU had more positive perceptions about academic functioning than students in UOB. Implications/Originality/Value: It is recommended that future researchers may conduct studies to explore reasons or factors causing gender-wise and university-wise differences in perceptions and try to improve academic operation.
