Purpose: Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are vital for economic growth, contributing significantly to employment and GDP. However, their rapid growth raises environmental concerns due to substantial resource consumption and inadequate adherence to sustainable practices. This study explores the role of Green Customer Participation (GCP), Green Marketing Orientation (GMO), and Green Supplier Participation (GSP) in achieving Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) and subsequently Sustainable Business Performance (SBP).
Design/Methodology/Approach: Data were collected through a survey of managerial-level employees in Pakistani SMEs using systematic random sampling. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS v.24 and causal relationships were tested with AMOS v.24.
Findings: The empirical findings revealed that all the direct relationships between GCP, GMO, GSP, GSCM and SBP were positive and moderately significant. Current study also proposed three mediating hypotheses and the results highlighted that GSCM acts as a strong intervening variable to direct the firms towards sustainable performance. Results concluded that BCT strengthen the link of GCP, GSP with GSCM.
Implications/Originality/Value: This study makes a significant contribution in the literature of dynamic capability view theory. Managers are required to design and implement strategies to integrate BCT into the business operations and take maximum advantages of green practices.
