Abstract

This study attempts to explore the role of governance in sustainable development specifically for the SAARC region. To achieve this objective the study utilizes multi-model approach with panel datasets whereby role of governance is investigated for three core elements of sustainable development i.e. growth, human development and environment. Limitations regarding data availability restrict the study to utilize differentiated time spans, cross-sections and inferential tools for each model. Analyses conclude that governance even has positive role for sustainable development in SAARC but significance of this role is relatively lesser than expectations.
