Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of HR competencies on HR professionals’ effectiveness in the banking sector of Pakistan. The impact of HR professionals’ social competencies (HRPSC) on HR professionals’ effectiveness (HRPE) were examined. The results suggest that the HRPC had a positive and significant relationship and impact with HRPE. However, this relationship is stronger for HRPSC. Within the sub constructs of HRPSC ‘credible activist’ is the most highly correlated with HRPE. Finally, the results confirm that HRPSC are found to be more significantly associated with HRPE. It is recommended in the study that the HR professionals need to enhance further their competencies in the area of credible activist, talent manager/organization designer and culture change steward and HR professionals’ effectiveness in the banking sector of Pakistan.
