This study aimed to improve the handwriting skills of students at early childhood education level. An action research design was adopted to conduct this research. Data were collected through convenient sampling technique from twenty four students studying in class-1 at public school at Multan. A handwriting test was conducted with students before and after the writing workshop to measure the improvements in their handwriting skills. The handwriting test was based on the three core skills, motor skills, visual perceptual skills and letter formation. Subsequently, a handwriting assessment questionnaire was developed on the five point Likert scale to assess the handwriting skills of the students. The handwriting assessment questionnaire was also based on above mentioned three core skills. The descriptive statistics provided a basis to further explore the variations in the data. Thus, a paired sample t-test was calculated to find difference between mean scores of pre and post-test results. Findings identified a significant improvement after the post-test in the handwriting skills of students. Next to discussion limitations and recommendations for future research were also discussed.
