Spirituality, Sense of Coherence, Resilience, and Stress among Earthquake Survivors of Azad Jammu and Kashmir

The current study attempted to empirically ascertain the relationship between spirituality, sense of coherence, resilience, and stressamong university students of Azad Jammu and Kashmir which is an earthquake affected area. The sample (N = 332) of this studycomprised of male (n=146) and female (n=186) students. Their ages ranged from 15 to 22 years. The Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (Underwood, 2011), Sense of coherence scale (SOC) (Antonovsky, 1993), Resilience scale (Wagnild& Young, 1993) and Stress scale (Zafar&Khalily, 2014) wereemployed as assessment measuresfor the study. The results demonstrated thatparticipants’ scores on SOC scale were significantly positively correlated with their scores on resilience scale (r =.60, p < 0.01).The Daily Spiritual Experience Scale was significantly positively correlated with SOCscale (r =.30, p < 0.01)and negatively correlated with stress scale (r = -.02).
