Connection between Glass Ceiling Beliefs of Female Employees and their Commitment towards Organization: Mediation of Job Satisfaction

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to acquire the connection of glass ceiling beliefs and commitment of employees towards their job through the mediation of job satisfaction of female employees those are working in the private and government banks in Multan. In collection of data, the method used for this research is survey design technique. The questionnaire filled by 200 females. Data analysed by Smart PLS and the mediation calculate by PLS-SEM. In the findings, the glass ceiling is still existing in the both private and government banks. So, glass ceiling introduced in early 1990s but still exists in Pakistan because Pakistan is an Islamic country and a male dominated society. So, women of Pakistan still face gender discrimination barrier. In this study, due to existence of glass ceiling beliefs, satisfaction level of female employees is low. As well as commitment of employees also effected. Results shows that Glass ceiling have connection with satisfaction of employees and commitment of employees towards their jobs.
