Abstract

This study aimed to validate a Schutte et al., (1998) Trait Emotional Intelligence measure using a sample of 214 auditors via confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modelling using AMOS version 22. Confirmatory factor analysis of the EI scale suggested a hierarchical factor structure with uni-dimensional factor. Scale was tested for its internal consistency, homogeneity and the relationship between EI and gender factor. The results indicated that EI is single factor constructs and subscales are distinct, although strongly correlated. Emotional Intelligence (EI) validated a set of promises with homogeneity, internal consistency and a structured validity in a sample of auditors in Pakistan. Results concluded that female auditors are much higher in emotional intelligence as compare to male auditors in Pakistan.
