Abstract

The study attempted to investigate the relationship between professionalism and teachers’ performance at the secondary level. All the secondary school teachers (SSTs) and secondary schools were considered from Punjab province. There are 6663 Government secondary schools in Punjab. 12352 teachers are working in these secondary schools as SSTs and 158044 students are enrolled in secondary classes. 1080 secondary school students and 180 secondary school teachers were selected using a multi-stage sampling technique. Statistical examination of the data demonstrated high validity, reliability, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and consistency. The major findings of the study were that majority of respondents are satisfied and agree with the code of conduct. Teachers are committed and satisfied with their performance with reference to the commitment variable. The research concluded that the majority of the respondents follow the code of conduct, leaving only a minority of the teachers not following the code of conduct.
