PUBLISHING POLICY

It is believed that authors' submissions to the Pakistan Journal of Social Sciences are free of Plagiarism and have not been submitted to any other research Journal. Plagiarism appears in various forms such as copying the same content from other sources; most commonly from the internet, and copying the work by other authors (s) such as figures, tables, or illustrations that cannot be considered common knowledge.

Self-plagiarism is also not allowed while the PJSS defines self-plagiarism as the intentional or unintentional reuse of one’s own copyrighted work without citing the original source. However, this policy does not apply to the manuscripts presented/appeared in any conference proceedings or Ph.D. or M.Phil theses by the author(s) and an explicit reference should be made to such work(s).

PJSS only checks plagiarism with the software of TURNITIN as recommended by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan. The HEC Pakistan only accepts papers with an overall similarity index produced by the TURNITIN i.e. 19% or less while any single source should not be more than 4 %. If a paper is submitted with plagiarism, the paper will be rejected.

Authors must declare in the Comments for the Editor section that the work is original at the time of submission stating that the author has not plagiarized any material and if found guilty, he/she shall be solely responsible and PJSS reserves the right to take action against him/her. Author(s) are required to upload their verification of authorship duly signed and stamped in the section of Upload Submission (others), at the time of manuscript submission. In case, a paper has multiple authors, the first/ principal author would be bound to take responsibility for the plagiarism and only he/she would be required to submit the said undertaking.

Any mistake committed by the PJSS Editorial Board during the processing/editing/printing of a research paper regarding the name of author(s), address, and affiliation cannot be considered an act of Plagiarism by authors.
